From a first message to forever
Bikes, McDonald's and terrible puns
We first crossed paths on Facebook Dating and bonded immediately over motorbikes, late-night fast food and jokes that made everyone else groan. From that first message to our first ride out together — and eventually to a proposal on Exmouth seafront — it has been quite the adventure.
How it went
- The beginning
First message
A playful opener on Facebook Dating. A shared love of bikes, bad jokes, and the slow realisation that this one might actually be different.
- Shortly after
First date
McDonald's, a long chat and a very nervous grin. Neither of us bolted, which in retrospect was a very good sign.
- Growing together
Adventures and rides
Rides out, late evenings, and the gradual discovery that we were better together than apart. The terrible puns never stopped.
- A moment to remember
The proposal
On Exmouth seafront, the question was asked. The answer, without a moment's hesitation, was yes.

The wedding
The next chapter. Lord Haldon, Devon, surrounded by the people we love most. We cannot wait.
